forumclínic, an interactive programme for patients

forumclínic is a platform meant to increase patients' autonomy in relation to their health by taking advantage of the opportunities offered in this regard by new information and communication technologies (ICT).

The programme provides rigorous, useful, transparent and objective information on conditions such as schizophrenia, diabetes, COPD, ischaemic heart disease, breast cancer, depression, cholesterol, hypertension, stress, bipolar disorder, arthrosis, arthritis, obesity, and more. This information is intended to help citizens improve their knowledge of health and disease, conditioning factors, efficacy and safety of different treatments, and the preventative treatments available – all so that patients can be involved in the clinical decisions that affect them. The programme promotes the active involvement of patients and, if necessary, patient associations.

forumclinic is led by healthcare professionals from the Hospital Clínic, a pioneering centre and leader in biomedical research in Spain, and by the primary care centres of the Clínic Group. The project is funded and supported by the BBVA Foundation, whose work in biomedicine focuses on promoting applied research in healthcare and improving citizens' quality of life.
